How to download your USAA statement as a PDF
- Sign in to usaa.com and open My Documents.
- By default you are looking at about the last 18 months. To go further back, use the Filter option and extend the Delivery date range to cover the period you need — the older documents are there, they are just outside the default view.
- Open the statement, then use the Menu icon on the document to download and save it.
- Drop the saved PDF onto StatementSnap and export to Excel, CSV, or QuickBooks.
What USAA statements look like
The thing that trips people up at USAA is that My Documents shows roughly 18 months by default and looks like that is all there is. It is not — extending the Delivery date range in the Filter brings older documents into view. Beyond what the filter reaches, availability varies by document type rather than following one bank-wide rule, and USAA may be able to retrieve an expired document on request, though there can be a fee. The number for that is 877-632-3002, and it is worth calling before assuming a period is unrecoverable.

USAA statement questions
- USAA only shows me 18 months of statements. Where are the rest?
- That is the default view rather than the limit. Click Filter and extend the Delivery date range to the period you want, and older documents appear. Most people never touch the filter and conclude the archive is shorter than it is.
- How long does USAA keep documents?
- It varies by document type rather than following a single retention period across the whole bank. If what you need is not reachable through the filter, USAA may be able to retrieve an expired document, sometimes for a fee — call 877-632-3002.
- Can I get a paper copy of a USAA statement I already have electronically?
- Yes, by request through Contact Us on the website or the mobile app. Where the law allows it, USAA may charge a reasonable fee for delivering a paper copy of something already sent electronically.
- Does converting a USAA statement work the same as any other bank?
- Yes. USAA deposit statements carry the standard structure — opening balance, dated transactions, closing balance — which is what the reconciliation check needs. Drop the PDF in and the badge tells you whether every transaction was captured.
